Need more articulation, it's a YJ

It is impossible to flat tow my 93 YJ. It does not want to follow the tow vehicle, it instead wants to follow the road topography. Turning corners across concrete drainage gutters results in the tow vehicle going one direction and the YJ trying to follow the gutter in the other direction. This makes towing impossible. I have had it checked by several shops and all agree there is nothing mechanically wrong with the Jeep. I think it likely has something to do with running the original Dana 30 front axle with a Detroit locker. It is still equipped with the stock vacuum motor actuated two piece long side axle shaft. Any thoughts would be appreciated.  It would be great to eliminate the need to drive it everywhere.

When I flat towed the Landcruiser I had to tie the steering wheel to the seat with a bungee cord.  It might be worth a try...

Good suggestion Tony, but already tried it with no luck.  The front wheels just follow the contour of the street instead of the tow vehicle and just overcome the bungee.

I've been flat towing my CJ for 15 years and have never had a problem, as long as I turn the ignition key enough to unlock the steering wheel.  I have never had to tie the steering wheel either.  Just for kicks, you might want to try doing it with the engine running.  Shouldn't make a difference, but you never know.  Good luck. Thanks for all the suggestions.  I have all the right hardware, correct bracket spacing, tow bar parallel to the ground, etc.  Have had the vehicle checked and double checked, I think Tony had the right idea.......trailer.  I just don't have the money or the space for another trailer.  I should have purchased a taller trailer when I purchased my Carson Racer.  It is just not tall enough inside for the Jeep.  I shoud trade it in on a bigger one.

Will it fit if you flatten the tires? Or maybe pick up a set of doughnut tires and swapping them out (kind of a pain in the rear though)

No solution found.  Insufficient clearance with flattened tires.
