Never the Last Trail!

« on: November 24, 2018, 02:56:33 PM »

Thanks to Cliff R., Roger G., Kurt R., and my daughter Stephanie for a great day. We began with breakfast at the Outpost Cafe and then made the trek to Afton Canyon where we explored mines, a box canyon, a slot canyon, grave sites and then made a side trip to the Desert Megaphone. The weather was perfect and we had the area to ourselves most of the day.

On our way back to pavement we did our good deed for the day by extracting a 3500 Dodge Crew Cab and a toy hauler that was stuck in the sand up to the frame. Two Jeeps and a pair or straps performed the extraction with surgical precision. Several thankful handshakes later we were on our way home. What a great day!

Yes it was a great and enjoyable ride. Cliff R. along with Stephanie climbed up to the Megaphone and Cliff gave us an Indian drum song you could here across the Valley.
