WOW!!! A big thanks to Jon for coming up with this stunning sand-to-snow outing! The day was absolutely perfect, the scenery was SO BEAUTIFUL, and we all had an amazing day on the trail. We were a little worried when we encountered pea-soup fog on our way to Lucerne Valley, but by the time we reached the trailhead and aired down the sun was out and the sky was blue. As we headed up Rattlesnake Canyon, which we had all to ourselves, we started to encounter more and more snow, until we were rolling in 6-8 inches of the white stuff by the time we crested Burns Canyon Road, which we definitely did not have all to ourselves. By the time we stopped in Baldwin Lake to air up, all of the Jeeps were wearing layers of mud to show all who crossed our paths just how good a day we had. Thanks to Kurt for coming out to see us off; wish you could have come along. Thanks also to Randy and his crew for meeting up with us in Big Bear, and suggesting Maggio's for lunch (Delicious!) And of course thanks to Rex and Mary, and Jon and Tracy (and Owen, the sneaky snowball slinger) for joining us for a really great day.

Hats off to John for. Great trail selection, and great timing between weather events! Scenery was truly breath taking, really gave you a lot of variety, but provided a lot of seasonal fun! You would think we had been mud bogging by the time we were done, but all in good fun and great comraderie! Might have to try this one again before the snow completely melts, worth a few more pictures and video! Great day, the next trail awaits!

It looks like a great run, love the video.  Sorry I could not make it.  I am still struggling with a bad ankle.
